Theo Wildanger was a great storyteller and painting was his preferred language. He told about Nature’s beauty through flowers, landscapes, people, and abstracts. Flowers were a favorite subject, some edging towards the abstract, only remotely recognizable. Theo painted them like a pianist would do scales. Then, when a plan for a serious story was fully formed in his head, he worked furiously and produced some of his finest works such as “Chaos”, the “Elam” paintings and the “Texas” series.
“Theo” and “Anna’s Eyes”, two books by Jim Kincaid, bring to life the artist’s early years in Europe to Virginia where he produced many of his works. This website was created to show Theo’s art to an ever greater audience. If you are not immediately smitten by the beauty of his paintings, give it time—it will win you over.
